The e-Traveller is the group member of our electric fleet. It is the long-wheelbase version, with a large boot, an air-conditioned cabin, generous legroom, comfortable seats and premium equipment. In practice, the long-wheelbase version means there is still room for suitcases behind the seven seats: up to seven pieces of luggage can travel with the party. On an airport arrival or a weekend getaway, that is worth more than any extra comfort feature.

What is it like to travel in an electric minibus?
Silence and smooth acceleration
An electric motor does not need a multi-speed gearbox, so there are no pauses for gear changes when pulling away or accelerating, and the vehicle moves smoothly and gently. Without a combustion engine, far less noise and vibration reach the cabin. In city traffic, where the vehicle stops and starts constantly, this is especially noticeable: passengers can chat or make calls in peace, and small children may even fall asleep.
No exhaust fumes outside the hotel entrance
An electric drive has no exhaust, so the vehicle emits no pollutants where it drives or waits. That is good for the environment, and more besides: outside a city-centre hotel, in a narrow street or in the courtyard of an event venue, the group can board without engine noise or the smell of exhaust.
An air-conditioned, spacious cabin
An air-conditioned cabin and generous legroom make a real difference on a summer sightseeing day or a winter airport run alike. In the long-wheelbase version, the seven passengers are not squeezed in on top of one another: everyone has room for their legs, and the suitcases travel at the back, in the large boot.
Energy recovery in the city
When slowing down, the electric motor works as a generator and feeds energy back into the battery. This is most efficient in stop-start city driving – in other words, exactly where the e-Traveller does most of its work.

Sightseeing by electric minibus – a suggested route
The route below links the capital’s best-known sights and can be covered comfortably with an hourly booking of three to four hours. You decide the order and the stops; when requesting a quote, you can list up to ten intermediate stops.
Heroes’ Square and City Park
The square at the end of Andrássy út is linked to the thousandth anniversary of the Hungarian conquest, the millennium of 1896. At its centre stands the column of the Millennium Monument, topped by a statue of the Archangel Gabriel, and the square is framed by the Museum of Fine Arts and the Kunsthalle (Hall of Art). Behind it lies City Park, with Vajdahunyad Castle and the Széchenyi Baths.
St Stephen’s Basilica
The capital’s largest church is 96 metres tall – exactly the same height as the Hungarian Parliament Building. It houses the Holy Right, the relic of King St Stephen, and from the viewing terrace around the dome you can see across the whole city centre.
The Hungarian Parliament Building and the Buda embankment
The Parliament shows its finest face head-on from Kossuth Lajos tér and, from the Buda side, across the Danube – it is well worth building both viewpoints into your route.
Buda Castle District and Fisherman’s Bastion
Rising above the Danube, Buda Castle District is part of Budapest’s World Heritage Site: Matthias Church, the viewing terraces of the neo-Romanesque Fisherman’s Bastion and Buda Castle’s Royal Palace can all be explored on a short walk. The vehicle waits for your group below the Castle District or at the designated stopping point, and after your walk you can set off straight away for the next stop.
Day trip
The Danube Bend: Szentendre, Visegrád, Esztergom
The Danube Bend is one of Budapest’s most popular excursion areas: here the river winds south between the hills, and three important places in Hungarian history line its banks. The distances are short, so it can be explored comfortably in a day – and among the hills and forests, the quiet of an electric minibus is especially welcome.
Szentendre
This small hillside town is a town of painters and museums: cobbled streets, church spires, galleries and cafés. On its outskirts lies the Hungarian Open Air Museum, known as the Skanzen, founded in 1967 and today Hungary’s largest open-air museum – one of the best parts of the day for families with children.
Visegrád
In the early 14th century it was the royal seat of Charles I (Charles Robert), and under King Matthias it was home to a magnificent Renaissance court. From the hilltop Citadel there is one of the finest views of the Danube Bend, while the remains of the royal palace below recall the splendour of medieval Hungary.
Esztergom
In the Árpád era it was a royal seat and the country’s ecclesiastical centre. Esztergom Basilica is Hungary’s largest church; from the dome you can see across the Danube to Slovakia on the far bank.
Practical tips for the excursion
The towns of the Danube Bend lie along Route 11, a few tens of kilometres apart, so the rhythm of the day is set by the length of your visits rather than by the drive. It is worth setting off early so that you can look around the Skanzen or the Visegrád Citadel before the larger groups arrive, and to plan lunch in Visegrád or Esztergom. On summer weekends the riverside road is busier, so allow some spare time for the journey home too.

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport
Family airport transfers – seven passengers, seven suitcases, one vehicle
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is about 16–20 km from the city centre; the journey combines urban and suburban stretches and takes 25–60 minutes depending on traffic. This is exactly the kind of distance where electric drive performs best: lots of slowing down and pulling away, frequent waits at traffic lights – and after a long flight, the quiet, air-conditioned cabin is especially welcome.
For a larger family, what matters most after landing is not having to queue at the taxi rank, split between two cars or squeeze suitcases one by one into a boot that is too small. With our Meet & Greet service, your chauffeur waits for you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, escorts the family to the vehicle and drives you to the address you have given. The return journey works the same way: the e-Traveller sets off from your hotel or home, with all your luggage.

Dinner at a city-centre restaurant, then a concert or a show, and finally home to different parts of the city: on an evening like this, nobody in the group has to think about who is driving or how everyone will get home. The e-Traveller waits outside the restaurant and, at the end of the evening, takes the guests home one after another. An hourly booking suits evenings with several stops like this; it is worth listing the intermediate addresses when you request a quote.

More and more companies make sure their events have the lowest possible environmental impact: in their choice of venue, catering and transport alike. At a corporate event, the e-Traveller typically handles the group transport of participants: between the hotel and the conference venue, the conference and dinner, and dinner and the hotel. If the guest list includes a VIP, the electric Mercedes-Benz EQS can be recommended for them – so the entire programme can be run with electric vehicles. On an eight-hour day, the e-Traveller costs 15 euros per hour less than the V-Class, which also carries seven passengers – 8 × €15 = €120 less in total. For transfers the difference is 30 euros: the e-Traveller costs €149, the V-Class €179 (including tax and parking).

About the model
The Peugeot e-Traveller – the electric version of the Traveller
The Traveller is Peugeot’s MPV designed for carrying passengers, and the e-Traveller is its fully electric version, launched in 2020. The manufacturer unveiled the facelifted version on 14 November 2023, with a fresh exterior and a new multimedia system, and recommends it for both family and business use.
According to the manufacturer, the facelifted model has a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor and can be ordered with a 50 or 75 kWh battery, giving a WLTP range of up to 224 or 350 km respectively. It is built in two lengths – 4.98 and 5.33 metres – and at 1.90 metres high it can enter most multi-storey car parks.
These are the manufacturer’s general specifications, not measured values for a specific vehicle; real-world range is also affected by speed, outside temperature and use of the air conditioning. The e-Traveller in our fleet is the long-wheelbase version with a large boot, and its equipment is listed above.
Planning
Longer journeys by electric minibus – when to choose the e-Traveller, and when something else?
The e-Traveller is truly in its element in Budapest and the surrounding area, on excursions of a few tens of kilometres, and on airport and city transfers. For longer journeys elsewhere in Hungary or abroad – to Vienna (about 245 km), for example – it is worth allowing for charging time in the itinerary, since the real-world range of any electric vehicle depends on speed, weather and use of the air conditioning.
For medium-distance journeys within Hungary – to Siófok (about 109 km) or Eger (about 129 km), for example – which vehicle is the better choice depends on the schedule: if the programme is relaxed and the day has some slack, the electric minibus can be planned comfortably too.
