In practice, seats that face one another mean more than you might first think. On a family trip, parents can keep an eye on the children; on a corporate transfer, the team can sit face to face and go through the papers for the afternoon meeting; and a group of friends is spared two hours of staring at the back of each other’s heads. Group airport transfers – the first and last kilometres of your holiday
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is about 16–20 km from the city centre, a journey of 25–60 minutes depending on traffic. Yet for a family or a small group, this is often the most tiring part of the trip: suitcases on the carousel after a long journey, tired children, a queue at the taxi rank – and the question of how many cars you will actually need.
With the V-Class, none of that is necessary. With our Meet & Greet service, your chauffeur waits for you personally in the arrivals hall with a name sign, escorts your party to the car and drives you to the address you have given – discreetly, efficiently and safely. The return trip works the same way in reverse: setting off from your hotel or home, you arrive at departures with all your luggage.
When booking, please give us the flight number and the exact number of passengers and pieces of luggage, and let us know if a pushchair, sports equipment or an especially large suitcase is coming too. Alongside the number of passengers, it is often these items that decide whether the V-Class is enough or whether the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VIP, which takes twelve pieces of luggage, is the better choice.

A day in the wine country: Eger or the Tokaj wine region
Eger lies about 129 km from Budapest and is reached via the M3 motorway and then the M25 expressway. After the castle and the Baroque town centre, most groups head for the cellars of the Valley of the Beautiful Women (Szépasszony-völgy), where Egri Bikavér and Egri Csillag are the stars of the tasting. The Tokaj wine region is further away, so we recommend it as a full-day or weekend programme: the cultural landscape of the Tokaj historic wine region has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. The Balaton Uplands and Hévíz
Groups heading for Lake Balaton mostly take the M7 motorway: Balatonfüred is about 129 km and Hévíz about 196 km from Budapest. On a family holiday, the V-Class’s greatest advantage is that seven suitcases, the beach bag and the child seats all fit in; on a corporate team-building trip, it is that the programme can begin on the way there.
A pilgrimage to Bodrogkeresztúr (Kerestir)

Vienna and Bratislava for the day
Vienna is about 245 km and Bratislava about 200 km from Budapest, both reached via the M1 motorway: towards Vienna the route crosses the border at Hegyeshalom, towards Bratislava on the M15 at Rajka. For a business team of six or a group of friends, the V-Class makes even a full-day programme comfortable: going through the papers on the way there, talking over the day on the way back.

One V-Class or two sedans?
Six passengers would need two Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans, with a combined hourly rate of 2 × €70 = €140. The hourly rate for one V-Class is €110 – and the whole party travels together in one vehicle, with no need to work out how to divide the luggage. The same applies to transfers: two E-Class cars cost 2 × €119 = €238, one V-Class €179 (including tax and parking).

What does a day with the V-Class look like?
A foreign delegation in Budapest
In the morning, a delegation of six lands at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. Our chauffeur waits for them in the arrivals hall with a name sign, the suitcases go into the luggage compartment, and on the face-to-face seats the guests are already discussing the day’s plan on the way to the hotel. A short stop at the hotel, then on to the meeting venue, a second meeting across town in the afternoon and dinner at a restaurant on the Danube in the evening. About the model
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class – the brand’s premium minivan
The V-Class is Mercedes-Benz’s large MPV, built on the technical foundations of the Vito but designed specifically for carrying passengers, with a high-quality finish. The story of the model family began in 1996: even then, the passenger version of the first generation bore the V-Class (V-Klasse) name. The second generation was sold as the Viano from 2004, and in 2014 the V-Class name returned with the third generation.
The manufacturer offers the model in three lengths – compact, long and extra-long – and vehicles for the European market are built mainly in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. The facelifted version was unveiled on 27 July 2023, with a larger grille and an updated MBUX multimedia system; the model family’s fully electric sibling is the EQV.
For passengers, its most important quality is its shape: the high cabin is easier to get into than a low-slung sedan – which matters a great deal to grandparents and parents with small children alike – and the sliding side door is convenient even in a narrow street or outside a hotel entrance. Practical tips
How to make your shared journey run smoothly
- Count everyone. Children are included in the number of passengers – seven passengers means seven seats.
- Wine you buy counts as luggage. At the end of a day in the wine country, the cases need space too; the V-Class takes up to seven pieces of luggage.
- Ask for cold drinks. In the V-Class, we can have cold drinks ready on request – especially welcome on a summer journey home.
- Allow some spare time. For airport departures, during major events and at summer weekends, traffic is less predictable.
- Travel documents for international journeys. Temporary border checks can be introduced even within the Schengen area, so every passenger should carry a valid identity card or passport.
